mpc 2000 and s3000

I have MPC 2000 and Akai S3000. I want to connect my mpc to s3000. Can I use my mpc like a keyboard?? play sounds on pads?? I can send only samples from s3000 to mpc. is possible to use mpc like a keyboard?? and play sounds on key

I know that I should connect by midi channel. I think that I should send programs from S3000 to mpc which contain key of sample. is that true?? or am I wrong. pleace HELP!!:)

The midi note numbers are not in order on the pads. I could never figure out why they decided to lay them out in a seemingly random order. I read a thread recently that said you could get around this by making a blank program in autochromatic and assign a midi track to it. That way, the pads would follow a logical order so you can play them like a keyboard. Well sorta like one I guess.

Mos definitely. Just hook the midi keyboard to one of the midi in's on the mpc and midi out to the s3000. Then you can just open a midi track on thaemp play and record in your sequence.

this is an old thread but i've got an s3000 sitting around that i haven't used. and i use a 1k... but the s3000 is just a sampler, so you can use a 2000 or 1k as the sequencer to the s3k, right?
