SAVING BLAH BLAH BLAH...

Yes I'm a newbie but don't give up, I'll be worth it in the end! Got a steady beat goin & recorded 3 samples to different pads no more than 10 seconds for each but when I came to save all seqs and all program/sounds I was abruptly told by the beloved machine that the disc was to small. It's a new disc so seems weird that it could not hold such small info or is it my saving technique perhaps? I checked through some old messages on saving which helped and the manual is beginning to look greek after the 3,245th read...

A little bit of geek math 10 secs stereo sample (supposed you sampled at 44khz 16bit) is 2 (stereo) * 2 (2 bytes for 16 bits) * 44000 (sampling rate ) * 10 (secs) = 1760000 bytes which is more data than you can fit on a floppy (14400000 bytes).

I don't want to sound clever or geek or whatever just trying to explain you why you need 2 disks

The math does bypass me a bit but I'm getting the drift tho. That's a big help, i'm just surprised how little memory the discs have (you can tell i've not much computer experience!) I'll keep the samples to a minimum for the moment, cheers again geezer...

You might want to get a zipdrive especialy when you have more than 2 megabytes of memory, face it sooner than later you will want / use more than 2 megs of internal memory and then you will need a zipdrive unless you like keeping set of 32 floppys for saving one song.
