Cartridge replacemant

Hey I've searched and I haven't found this so, I just wondering how often do you or should you replace the needles on your turntable. I'm currently using Shure 447's plus I think i need to buy a needle to record my wax with. thanks.

I used to replace them every six months but I was heavily into skratching back then. After that I dunno, maybe once a year...But I recently bought a sc35c for sampling.

I use shure m44g for scratchin and sampling, was tempted to get sc35c for samplin, but decided i'll be cool with the m44g, plus i quite like the sound i get from it..

As for replacin, all depends on urself... u might play a couple records a day, where as u might play records ALL day, where as u might scratch all day..

Or u might scratch for 2 hours of the day.. and play records for 5.. etc etc..

Its quite a hard question to answer, all depends on how much u use it.

Its like askin how often to service a car or some sh!t, depends how many miles u do and how often, as well as on the car itself.

Also depends on the quality of the records ur playin, if ur playin some mad fuct records with big scratches that aint in very good condition... thats gonna effect ur stylus diff to if u playin mint condition nice clean records.

Just change it when u feel the need, keep a keen ear and notice when the sound is degradin.. keep watch of ur stylus as well..

coz a fuct stylus will only f**k ur records more,. and vise versa

I wanted the 44-g but they didn't have that at the time. I'm happy with that sc35c though. More clearer in the mids and highs...

thanks guys I think I'm due for replacement from the sound of things so I might go try the 44-g, see what it sounds like and sort it out from there.
