I'm bummed, this is going to be the second unit I'm returning.
The first one was a return from a previous customer that looked worse than the demo, and it was my xmas present! So I drove to another Sam Ash 30mi away in Cerritos. I really checked out this unit ibefore I took it. It was brand new-Box in perfect shape...
When I got home I fired it up and nothing appeared on the screen. Not even an opening title. I did a master reset-still nothing-Adjusted the monitor (carefully) STILL NOTHING! I get a backlight but no other message or panel lights.Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is my unit just a bad one? Any suggestions before I return this one tomorrow?
I hope this isnt a sign as to my new relationship with MP's???

I called a friend that works for Akai, and he said sounds like the board has been "re-worked". Also, because of the MP500 demand, QC doesnt check every unit before they ship, especially before XMas. But, he did give me some inside news, in late March 08' Akai is coming out with a MPC500 USB powered! So he advised me to hang on to it for the next month to get used to it and then return it for the MP 1000.
I'm just gonna hang on to this unit and deal...Then I'll make a decision about upgrading to the MPC1000.
Thanks for replying.. Have a good Xmas and a bangin New Years.
