Mpc 2000 XL card reader

Looking at buying one for my akai as all i have is the standard drive and a
zip drive and this is not too reliable i have been told.

does anybody know where you can pick these up for a reasonable price
in the uk...and what are the benefits?

You used to be able to pick up card readers from computer/electronic stores pretty cheap but it seems they don't carry them anymore.

If I was you I'd get one from a service center. I read on here that addonics had a mpc compatible card reader/writer but my friend just ordered it and it doesn't work. You need an IDE/ATAPI card reader/writer.

I purchased the Addonics AEIDEDMD4B a few weeks ago. IT DIDN"T WORK WITH THE MPC!!!! Now I have to return it and pay a restocking fee of 15%.

I just ordered the MCD kit from VST last night. I should have done that in the first place.

Exactly what my friend and some other people have experienced...That particular addonics card reader that worked with the mpc2000xl has been discontinued/replaced with another one that isn't compatible with the xl.

Does VST still have them cause? I know MPC Stuff is saying that they are waiting for there shipment but when the hell is that it's been like 3 mos. and my friend still hasn't got his. They don't even make these anymore unless they are the black ones.

I talked to Nicholas at VST last night, he took my order and it is now on the way. So, yeah. VST has them.

I need to tell my homie to jsut cancel his order with MPC Stuff and get it from VST before they run out again.

how much was the one from VST again? i think i was originally told around 145? anyone have a clue?

I don't know...17$ is not much so you might as well try it I reckon...It's an IDE/ATAPI one but there's not much info on that page...

Let us know if you decide to order one and report if it works or not...

This one works but it's alot of work to load and save things.
