hello
I heard a rumour that the mpc1000 will not record and edit control change / pitch bend midi information into the sequencer. Is this true? I own a mpc2k at the moment but I'm pretty into getting a mpc1000, but if it only records note information it could be pretty limiting...I checked the manual and it looks to me like it is possible, but just want to check before buying..

cheers

if you have the 2kxl, what exactly do you expect from the 1k? the 1k's sequencer is a downgraded version of the 2kxl's sequencer. the only advantage of the 1k over the 2k is the size and the compactness (and the embedded optional items such as fx and separate outs and the large RAM). Other than that the 1k is very very limited as far as midi and sample editing are concerned.

this said, the 1k sequencer can record everything as far as midi data is concerned. But a number of midi messages are not recognised by the internal sound engine. One of them is pitch bend...

Second that - it records everything, pitch bend, control changes, sysex, etc.
I even do things like: play a bit on the first record pass, add some mod wheel or bend on the overdub pass, etc.
The limitation is in the sample engine, it doesn't do anything with pitch bend or control changes.
