please help with the lowend theory on the 2500

I use the filter to get down to just the low end but when this is done how do you get the volume up so you can here it? The window doesn't have any volume control... I'm lost on this please help??

Maybe you took the low end down to much to be able to be heard. I would think if your sound you sampled was loud enough before dropping the low end, that's probably what it is . I might be wrong. Listen to it with some sub woofers mabye. Assuming your not already of course. They probably will pick that end up that you can't hear.

on the 2000xl when you filter it to the base there's a volume next to it so you can bring it up.... but on the 2500 it doesn't appear to have this..

A way i'v found of doing it is lowering the pads level before assigning the sound buit this is an awkward way there must be am easier way..

start with the filter, take it til it sounds halfway there, then assign eq to it, and take it the rest of the way. the filter alone won't do the trick.

Hey that's a good method Nym. I definately half to try that.

I've also found the lack of some kind of boost to compensate for the filters annoying. Particularly as you have to attentuate to avoid digital clipping a hot sample. Looking at a few commercial MPC programs which I thought were quieter than average, the individual sample levels on each pad were set at 70 instead of 100. Maybe that's the way to handle it - set all samples down to 70 as the nominal level and bump the quiet ones up if they need it.

and that's the way it WAS in akai version 1.07 for the 1000.

it's a smarter way for the mpc to default, i think

a subwoofer picks up low ends.
