sup all users,

just need to know some info about SCSI drives in relation with the MPC. I can buy one of these of trade me {similar to ebay} pretty cheap with a cable as well, but how could i get the info onto the drive {say, from my computer} before loading it onto my MPC? USB interface would be best but i dont think the drive has one. What do y'all do for this?
peace
ess.

I have a scsi cd rom and I save all my sounds as data(wav) onto a cd and then load them from there. Then I save them to the 4.5 gb scsi hard drive I have - job done.

Word, but don't forget that this method won't work with a mpc2000 'cause those don't read standard format cd's only the akai formatted ones.

How would you back up a project to CDR with the 2000?

yeah me too.

So you can only load " Akai sample format" disks with the 2000?

Is there anyway to EASILY create a Akai formatted disk? or is it just proprietary?

"Is there anyway to EASILY create a Akai formatted disk? "

Just do a search at google for `creating akai format cd's`. The article typcially are geared towards older Akai s-series samples but the information applies equally as well for the MPC2000.

There is also a link to those articles and to a tool for making these cd images in a thread in this forum.

I picked mine up from ebay for 30 quid - definitely a necessity!
