sorry if this is obvious but ive been thinkin bout gettin a second hand bass guitar just to bang out some basslines on but i was wondering if you can record direct into the mpc

You can, but it wont sound very good.
It works good with an active bass though.
Plug a di box between the bass and the mpc, thats all you need.

you could always get a little amp and a mic and record it with a mic
then eq the shit to make it sound how you want

im hopefully getting a bass soon, can't wait. plus my mate is going to be teaching me wich is a bonus!! theres something about a real bass which really makes beats flow if u get me.
