that question is quite ... generic?
I'd say start by opening a new sequence, set it to 2 measures length and to loop ON
then set the tempo somewhere between 85 and 110,
then sample a bass drum (BD), a snare drum (SD) and one bass note (two if you feel creative BN1 and BN2).

Then make a drum track like this
1.1.00 BD
1.2.00 SD
1.3.00 BD
1.4.00 SD
1.4.48 BD
2.1.00 BD
2.2.00 SD
2.3.72 SD
2.4.00 SD
2.4.48 BD

And a bass track like this
1.1.00 BN1
1.1.48 BN2
2.1.00 BN1
2.1.48 BN2

Press PLAY and start rappin.

Now that's crude! But how is anybody supposed to deal with such a question?

Here's what I would do - Go through some of your favorite Hip-Hop records sample a beat (preferably a tough beat that will cut through everything else) - now keep sampling beats from all over the place - get all your loops and phrases in line and use your 1000 filters to get them all to sound right and sit right

Then sample a bass line off of something you like (filter out the highs)

Then sample a chorus or lead from something you like

arrange the whole lot

then have your boys come over and rap or what ever they do when they're at your crib but not your one boy - the fat one - he never brings over his own chronic and he always farts and tries to deny it and they usually stink soo bad they clear the studio

He'll end up beggin to come tho.. before ya know it ull be reachin for the air freshner..

Back to original question: Its kinda like a young person who wants to be an architect when he grows up saying "Explain to me how to make a nice looking modern building step by step"... For a start theres like a gazillion branches of hip hop styles that all have their own production techniques... Firstly read the manual 100 times, then read thru the threads on this forum (even if it means reading old threads.. this place is an archive of information not just a 'latest gossip' forum).. ull start developin your own style and just have fun

Good luck on gettin things going..
