Hi. Ive just joined this forum and hope to find the answer to my ongoing problem. I just want to sync my mpc1000 with Logic pro 7 using a simple Midi to USB cable. I want the mpc to be the slave so when I press play in Logic the mpc will start and I also want to be able to play synths in Logic through the mpc. Is this possible because Ive searched for ages and cant solve it, can anyone help me please?

Plug the midi out of your audio interface to the midi in of the mpc.Go to MODE Midi/Sync on the MPC and go to sync. Turn on sync in to 1.

Then go in to Logic and under PREFERENCE go to MIDI. Then click on midi sync song setting and turn on the midi clock.

You should be able to press play in Logic so that the MPC play too. Also you can trigger Logic synths on the pad if everything is successful. HOpes this helps.

Hey. Cheers for replying. Yeh I had tried doing what you said earlier and it didnt work. Im new to midi synchronisation so im not too sure what im doing, ive got the midi cable into the midi input on the mpc and usb to my laptop but it wont work. Should logic just be able to start and then the mpc start or does logic have to be in record mode or something like that? Thanks

You need an audio interface thats has midi input/output or just a midi interface. I don't think you can plug directly from the laptop via usb to the mpc.

Logic should start without triggering the record button. just press play and it will sync with the mpc.
