Anybody know if there is such a thing. It sucks balls having to disconnect my mpc to lug it into the other room where my old comp is.....

Aksys (the most current one from the website) will NOT run on vista. Sucks.

Your old PC will have to do then. Not too many things work with vista, unless specified.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. That slows me down a lot, but I cant complain. Im just happy to be back with a 4k after almost three years. Had to sell mine cause of some issues. Wish I could say its like riding a bike getting back on it, though. I remember a lot, but this thing is insane.
I have no complaints except that one.

lol because it might work on 32 bit but not on 64 bit
(because I imagine the 64 bit drivers are a lot different).

If I move to Vista, I would only get it for 64 bit,
as WinXP is benchmarked slightly ahead of Vista for 32 bit
(but obviously, in the long term, 64 bit is where things are going in computer world)

32 or 64 bit vista...

if you run ak.sys on vista in 64 bit mode, it will only work 50% of the time...
just bein' stupid :P

Ok, actually ak.sys by itself works fine. But the driver for the 4k is what crashes the comp every time. As soon as I plug in USB, I get the lovely vista version of the BSOD.

Any Ideas?

Yep,
contact Akai Unprofessional Inc's "support" and ask them when they're bringing out a Vista driver for the MPC4000.
