I know NYM did his thing on his MPC (to each is own). But I decided to try and paint my endcaps and CF reader trim and it is going in the direction of a disaster! I am using Plasti-Kote brush on paint and a set of fine bristled paint brushes. I wanted to use a spray but it seemed that using a brush was less messy. Well turns out the mess isnt the problem, my problem is my skill as a painter. Paint sticks well but I am "heavy handed" and "thin coat" is not in my skill set. I saw some nice 1k on here with the white endcaps, some black endcaps and I was wondering if you all ordered the endcaps painted or if you did the job yourself? Anyone use the Krylon "Fusion" spray paint, that is what I am going to try? Let me know something folks, also if you can post some pics of your project (in the process if you have it?/videos are even BETTER! Haha)

Think about it: there's a reason they don't brush-paint cars!

YEAH I THINK IM GOING TO USE SOME SPRAY PAINT. KNOW I NEED TO GET BACK IN MY GRAFF TIPS SELECTION. MAYBE A GERMAN FAT OR A SNOWBALL. MAYBE AN OUTLINE WOULD GET ON IT BETTER. TIME TO TEST IT OUT.

Images of my painted endcaps are on my MySpace page. This is not an advertisement of my work eventhough comments are appreciated. I do not know how to post pics directly to the forum?

I used krylon fusion for the red and some other wood plastic spray paint for the yellow. Couldn't find the right color. Been like this for a few months and no paint wear so far.Image
I don't have an account at myspace. Could you post the pictures somewhere else?

My paint has started to rub off where my hands rest on the corners. I used Krylon Fusion, pretty good paint. Nothing has bothered the scroll wheel or CF card trim ring though. The red and yellow is different. I wanted to paint my chassis but I need my mode functions around my pads, looks more "professional" to me.

As I look at the pictures I suddenly realize without the "pad upgrade" the 1k looks "funny". It doesn't even look like the "other" MPCs structurally. Im ordering my upgrade ASAP! My pads work fine but I just do not like the cheap look of the individual pads. "Around" you have the pad upgrade dont you?

Nope. I have the old pads and my pad 7 only works if I hit the right top corner. I'll probably but the new pads when I get os2 and I also need a new cover for my lcd.

How odd! I screwed mine up just like that trying to "brush" paint it. Haha, I had to sand it down as smooth as I could and thats when I decided to spray it. I wanna order some more and spray them and it would be perfect but I think im going with the 5000 or MV-8800? We shall see?
