Quite a list there Mikolo:)

my no.1 request would be: PLEASE JJ, PLEASE. make the arpeggiator send midi.

Here is what i think is most important out of the list you've gathered:
(wow...there's still some :o )

mikolo wrote:

MAIN SCREEN

17.Track selection by Shift+Pad e.g. shift + pad 16 the active track becomes track 16. (an alternative method could be numeric + pad)
shift-pad from the track-mute screen? there you'll see the track names at the same time

30. Simult sequence:toggle between main seqeunce and simult seq (e.g.open window on the simult seq parameter and the simult seq becomes the main seq and the original main sequence becomes the new simult sequence).

This would be REALLY USEFULL if you have to use one sequence solely for program changes and another just for the notes. (like i do). Those of you who who use external synthesizers and are trying to edit patches with them, might have bumped on "reseting presets"-problem when hitting stop+start from mpc... using different sequence for program changes has been my way around the problem...

SLIDER MODE

36.qreal assignable to LFO's rate, pitch, filter1, filter2, and level
wobble-fun :)

LOAD/SAVE

28.Live audition of samples while sequencer runs.

MIXER MODE

39.Output mixer.i.e.volume control for outputs 1,2,3...6
guess this means using 1/2 , 3/4 as a send? ...this actually was how i assumed it would work when i bought my mpc. Would like it very much.

TRIM MODE

9.Cross fade looping.Loop position snap to zero crossing.

48.Use of FX in trim mode for destructive editing, incorporating "preview"," new file" and "all" options like the ring mod

- Sample preview of chopped samples from pads.

btw, have you guys ever thougth if it would be better if the qlink-selection of start/end would be reversed? My brains simply tell me it should be reverse way every time i use it?

PROGRAM MODE

8.Legato/Retrig .Reason style portamento control.
would be great

14.Multiple midi notes per pad or a simult pad sends MIDI from all simulted pads.
would be great

15.Sample selecting from inside a program to start from the last assigned sample
absolutely

31.Mod groups. One lfo would modulate any samples assigned to that mod group.
would be great

65.Velocity to LFO rate. Also the ability to change the rate of the LFO as the pad plays.

68.."delete program with samples"

69.simult program

MIDI

52.MIDI clock output divider (MIDI out A: midi clock 200bpm MIDI out B clock:100bpm)

54.MIDI out "panic" reset: for stopping hanging notes on external equipment etc.

FX

42.EQ settings memory EQ presets

SEQ EDIT

64.Seq edit: change the speed of the midi data on a track or tracks.e.g.half or double the tempo of the data, but master tempo remains the same.

STEPEDIT

67.Step edit: the ability to highlight multiple pieces of data and edit them.e.g highlight a range of notes, edit the velocity levels of all the highlighted notes.

yeah? why isn't it this possible? also the deleting 10 notes takes 10 clicks

75. step edit: option to view only the data that applies to the current step

i'd like to see "hit a pad" filtering that would show only the notes corresponding to the pads you hit.

GRID EDIT
20.Grid and step edit with sequencer running.

SONG MODE
70.song mode revamp: overall tempo adjust, tap tempo response, "live record of sequence changes" creates a new sequence or a song.

just to clarify for everybody..it's not my list i just paraphrased most of the stuff mentioned in the F.R thread at the top!...Im not that greedy haha
Yeah 100db,I compiled similar ideas together with a few tweaks here and there.
I know what your saying theres so much good stuff in that feature request thread that its hard to decide whats most important, or what we'd like the most.

My original intention was to gather all of em together so we could decide a top 3 each...then add em up to a mpc forums top 3 or 5.
As it looks now that could be mighty difficult: everyone sees the usefulness of the other peoples ideas but have subtle requirements/dreams of their own. Its even difficult to choose what we think other people ought to find important...what i mean is those features that aren't some niche production technique that is unique to your or my approach but one that all of us would benefit from, caus even that is blurred by how we approach the mpc, which again is subtley different
between us all...
anyways...
Most of us are overwhelmed with what JJ's done already, a few inclusions from this list would be nice, but i think we can trust him to come up with OS2 that is firing on all cylinders...he's probably got a few of these ideas up his sleeve anyway..without us suggesting anything...the current pad pattern is a notable example!

thanks for your input guys!

yes.

this is exactly where i feel like i am "philosophically" regarding jj.

see, i have always used the jj os since it fist came out, really really into it, because i saw it as an extension of what i could do before. so suddenly i could do more, based on the features he added. it used to be that every time i would "request" a feature, it would happen. but it wasn't because i was requesting them, it was because this is what the os was moving toward. the programmer already had that planned.

hence "march." the programmer has plans (and hopefully will always have plans. he is the ultimate feature requester) of his own.

but mikolo, props on such a nice list though. you've definitely captured a lot and put in some work, and it's a true resource. think: a true resource, to us, yes, to jj, yes, but to any OTHER interested programmer who may see it as well.

Thanks nym... when i get time i'll probably edit the first post to make the numbers a bit more logical...but keeping some kind of reference to the original there too.. was thinking at the least it could save people time trawling through the whole FR thread, but too much time considering the size of that thing...at least it fits into one page!

can you imagine how much work JJ would have to put in?....while we're all here making beats

Renderin tracks to audio would be the most important to me. Resamplin is cool and all, but I'd rather things just render to the loop I already have them in so I don't have to chop them up and re-sequence them in Acid. It's a pain in the ass.
