How can I record onto a track w/out having to sample?

I been using my MPC 2000 since they first came out but I never used my keyboard straight onto tracks. I have always either sampled onto a pad or played directly into pro-tools on a seperate track. I want to be able to play directly onto my tracks in the mpc is that possible? and if so how do I do that?

yup just connect the keyboard to the mpc with midi cables.

keyboard midi out -> mpc midi in
mpc midi out -> keyboard midi in
