Nightmare _ my mpc slider took a hit!

My mpc slider took a bash at a gig and now is bent and doen't work...
Can I buy another and fit it to my mpc2000xl?
If so where could I buy one???
would it be hard to replace???
I fitted the zip drive myself but I have a feeling this may be more difficult.
any help

a band member killed it by dropping a case onto the mpc.
Idiot!
however the mpc is fine apart from the slider which is a little bent and no longer working.

just get in touch with akai....I got one for 20 bucks with shipping...........just call 'em chief......

My fader was messed up and after I sent it off to akai and waited a month. I was informed that I could buy any fader (radioshack) and have it installed at a local electronics repair store. If you are real funny about keeping it stock then by all means send it off but be prepaired to wait. The longest month in recent memory without my MPC.

dude fix it yourself, mine was bent, i took the cap off and used pliers to unbend it, then i used a clamp to tighten the teeth on the base. shit took like 30 sec and it slides almost as good as new, doesnt affect play. peace & good luck
