is the mpc2000xl format compatible with the 2500 or 5000?

i was wondering if the mpc2000xl format was compatible with the 2500 or 5000 cause i sold my mpc2000xl cause i was having main stereo output problems with it and thought i couldnt get it fixed, i would like to upgrade to the 2500 or 5000 but dont wanna lose listening or trying to sell my other beats i made on the 2000xl

Yeah they will work. It's just that No Akai's are backwards compatible.

i figured that cause i remember i tried to load up beatz from a mpc2000xl in to the original mpc2000 and it didnt work , said something about the program that runs the mpc

So If I make a beat on the 500 I cant load it up into my XL. Thats pretty gay.

MPC2500 manual say:

Data compatibility

MPC2000/2000XL: SEQ,WAV,SND,PGM (Most parameters of PGM file can be loaded)

Obviously not all, as the 2500 e.g. has no simult feature. I assume the same info is in all the other MPC manuals.
