I save the ALL and APS files. This way you get everything you need.
I make as many partitions as possible and save one beat in each folder. I use 100MB Zips, so I wouldn't do that with a huge flash-card.
Remember to have maximum 8 characters filenames and different sample names! To always have different filenames (and to find the samples I haave used if I need it) I use this system:
"Artist Name" as the first two letters "AN"
"Kick" as the last letter "K" (Or "S" for "Snare" or "P" for "Perc." or "C" for "Clap")
"Track Title" inbetween
And "L" or "R" at the end if I have splitted a sample and kept both files.
ANTRACKK
or ANTRACSL for left side of snare from "Artist Name"'s song "Track Title"

So if I have a 1 gig flash card, basically the due to partition limitation, I wont be able to use it all?

Correct you will only be able to use 780mb of a 1 gb flash card

Sloppy cats! It's not a hazzle naming files when you get into/used to it.
I don't name samples on the SP1200, because I only save one beat per disk, and then there is no problems. But with the 3000 you could store many beats in one partition by naming the files individually. And if you back it up to computer you could go into it and grab all files ending with B and make a Bass disk, and whoomp you have a bass library. If youre into that.

I only name the sequence and have only one song per partition... everything else is whatever the default is...

Careful with not naming stuff. I forgot which partition I had stuff on once and completely replaced my chops for that beat and had to redo them all.

Each Floppy Disk is named "Drumkit #1, Drumkit #2,...etc
and the sample in each floppy are named sound_1, sound_2,...etc
Then i can create how many sequence i want and save it into the floppy. (Beat 201, Beat 202,...etc)
Yeah ok, that's hard to find a beat in my floppy but i don't give a f... because i record the beat into Cubase (yes i use my 60 only for the drums), so that's ok to me.

if you are using a cf reader, you should REALLY consider naming each and every sound.
i lost a few beats by not doing this because allowing the mpc to sequentially name the sounds WILL overwrite a previously saved sound of the same name.
If you dont think this will happen, you havent made enough beats on your machine to come across this yet.

hahaha seems to be a lot of us 60 heads are just lazy! or dont like to keep things neat! i know i have this same problem .... speaking of which i have the scsi hard drive can i use more than A-D memory bank i have read but never tried i dont want to have to reconfig all my sounds agian (i am still recoverin')

If you mean can you do more then 4 partitions yes.
