It depends on the beat, if you're using one track for each sound or not, Usually I use one track for drums, one for hihats, one for a bassline, one for a loop, one for other samples, etc. it all depends on the structure of the song you're working on. To do drumrolls, you can use the tap/note repeat button. Press hold it down while you press the pad of one of your drum sounds, and it will repeat it according to your time correct time signature.

or for a natural feel, do your drumrolls live with no time correction. put your snare on 2 pads and freak it like a real drummer, if you want it to sound like a real drummer.

Around 10 mid tracks.8 audio tracks max.

Yeah, basicly drums rolls work great with tap/note repeat.Just learn how to use it velocity correct for a realistic feeling.

try making a beat with double time, then use note repeat, this helps for a differant and faster feel. but definately two snare samples work best, but if you notice on the mpc, if you hold down the note repeat long enough, you can stop holding it, and then work two pads at once.

double time is simply doubling the bpm, then using half the time resolution, i.e. 90 bpm would be 180 bpm, and instead of putting the snare on the 2 and 4, you would just do the 2's. Or use 1/8s instead of 16ths, 16ths instead of 32nds, and 1/4 instead of 1/8ths.
