Hmmm.....you are probably lookin for kinda like this!

this looks better the other sht looks cheap hell they should have just kept it all black
but sorry folks this thang aint **** with the 4k.
Id get a z4/z8 and a 2.5k for about the same price as the 5k and would drop turds all over it feature wise
The MPC 2500 aka MPC 1000XL is yesterday's news. I would simply opt for an MPC 5000 and a z4/z8..or better yet, any of the leading software samplers out now for an incredible combo. Motu Mach 5 II (
http://www.motu.com/products/software/m ... res20.html) has the ability to let you assign most of its perimeters to MIDI CC. A key feature of the MPC 5000 is its numerous Q-link sliders and knobs which send MIDI CC commands

Even the soon to be release Emu Emulator X3 with its 24-bit/192kHz sampling engine (yes, it actually samples too) and Z-plane filters can't be touched by any hardware sampler in terms of features and power.....
Just me 2 1/2 cents because people in this forum spend way too much time writing about why they wouldn't get this MPC. That is way too much time dedicated to something people don't care for.
So the point of this thread is that some are not impressed with the way it looks...they say it looks cheap. Well, it looks exactly the MPC 2500 with a larger LCD and more room added for the Q-link sliders and knobs. The MPC 2500, which I own, is not cheaply built...minus the thin metal plate underneath the unit.
