With the 1000 and 4000 seeming like the future of hardware sequencing what would be the point of keeping the 2000 series alive?

Once (I believe it's a matter of time) they update the OS in the 1000 to accomodate reverse, time stretching, chopping, 2nd seq etc...the 2000 series seems like it would be absolete (Floppy Disks and SCSI drives - ???)

Thoughts?

I think they should...

As long as people still believe certain MPC's make their drums punchier there will always be a 2000 series. Not to mention the new color change even more reason to spend 1400$

I doubt they will implement all that in OS updates. They have the perenial excuse of "use your computer".

but who knows?

I doubt they will discontinue the 2000 series, it has a different feel to some people from the 1000 and some people prefure the bigger pads on it and etc.

They could've discontinued the 2K series along time ago, but I think they have something new in the works 8)

They discontinued the 3000 and 60 -

Maybe a 2010 xl and a 1010le - respectively

You never know -

The whole 2000 vs 1000 debate shouldn't even be - was there a 4000 vs 1000 debate - not that many and not that spirited why? - because the differences are so noticeable that there was no question - where with the 1000 and 2000 there are questions becauses the lines are fuzzier

Are the pre's and A/D converters on the 2kxl different from the 1000?
