get some info about paypal fraud & ebay might be helpful, but ebay has a legal process for fraud since it affects them to....it helped me out before when i almost got GOT online
it takes a while to get it all confirmed and your money back but for 850 its worth it

Yeah I've tried that, and appearently eBay doesn't offer any protection anymore, they stopped doing that on January 1st 2008 :? I've tried it all and I don't think there's anything left to do so I might aswell just forget it. So for everyone reading this:

If you order from eBay: 1. Make sure the seller has GOOD feedback, preferably 100%! Read through ALL the buyer feedback.
2. As soon as you've sent him the money, you should DEMAND a tracking number (if he sends it through FedEx or UPS or any other shipping company). If the seller doesn't give you a tracking number within 2 weeks, report him to Paypal. Don't listen to him if he says that he can't find the receipt and that he'll get it to you in a week, no matter what excuse he has you should always be on the safe side. The guy that I bought from played me out and said that he had misplaced the receipt, that's one of the reasons why I waited for so long. So learn from my mistake lol

Because the XL has features that not only make the workflow easier, but its easier to add the storage expansions as well. Like a CF reader. There really aren't any logical sensible reasons not to get an XL over an classic unless you just REALLLLLLYYYY need to have an MPC right at this moment. I'll tell you now, the only reason to not need the extra features is if you don't have the money to buy an mpc or if you track and sequence with software via midi. Go ahead and be hard headed and get the classic and see how much help you're gonna get on this board. Real talk. If you're not gonna get a 1000, or 2500, get an XL. And while you're at it get the internal card reader. Then go and make beats or something. End of story.

u sound a bit bitter lol. anyway it was really a simple question. i know for me personally i dont see myself getting the card reader. id only get a 2000 because it reads the files for my S3000 and I kind of want something more all in one. If the 3000 read the files I would jump on it or a 60. So for me not having folders is not a big deal especially not worth paying an extra $300-500 for. I have spent some limited time with a 2000 classic but never an xl thats why i ask

I like the "multi-Zones" in the XL for quick sample chopping & editing

also the XL can use up to 4 pgms in the one sequence.

these two issues and the use of folders cover the "extra" cost IMO

there is a way around these features on the 2000 but they make it alot easier for me.

I dont know i have had both right next to each other at a time in my life and it kinda of seemed like the 2000 classic samples alittle bit "warmer" than the xl but i am an xl user because of all of its features.

It's the same machine, only less features (no folders etc). It's a lot more difficult to stick a card reader in a 2000 classic compared to xl. There's not one advantage of the classic over the xl to my knowledge...

If I'm wrong, lemme know 2000 classic users...

Classic Pros:

-Tap Tempo
-Shuttle Wheel
-Looks cooler (only my opinion)

Classic Cons:

-No folders (very annoying)
-Inability to turn off "Auto-Load" for .ALL files
-No internal IDE
-Fixed screen
-Older by a few years (more likely to stop working earlier)


Both are usually the same price, granted they have the same options installed.

i.e. a bare bones XL and Classic will be the same price where I live.


P.S. -- the XLs wheel is awwwwwwwwwwwwwwful... makes me cringe whenever I see that ugly thing.
