500

go w/the 1/2 a G...easy to use...sounds the same...cheaper...portable...1k n up yeah bigger and more options but ask what do you really use of those options...

cop a 500...a good preamp..a analog filter...a mixer or DAW n your set with a workflow that'll have you 10 songs deep into it before nightfall hits

i have a 500 and i enjoy it but the 1000 is more convenient if it´s going to be your only mpc (don´t buy into the chop by ear trend,we are in 2008 and wave editing it´s going to help you a lot).anyway i like my 500(but i also have an xl)

depends how much money u can spend!!! if you're low on funds a 500 gets the job done
I have a 500 and the biggest drawback is TIME cuz of the 1-line display, and lower memory, so it's way more time-consuming to get shit done
but it's a sound investment to get to know your equipment
