I'm running OS 3.06

Alright, here is the deal. I chopped up a sample and made a beat. I saved the program and the sequences just as I always do. Today when I loaded up the program it starting loading my assigned samples, but when it reached sample 22 it said "file not found" and wouldn't load the rest of my samples. When I went to program mode it showed all the samples that I had on the pads with a "?" before the name. So luckily I could find those sounds, re load them and get my drums, bass, etc back. So I thought maybe I didn't save it correctly and made sure I saved everything again. Turned off the mpc, back on and tried re loading it and the same thing.... at sample 22 it says not found and wont load the rest of my samples. I've never had any problems like this on JJ. Any help would be appreciated.

And now when I try to change my sequence name and save it, it says "file name already taken" when I know for a fact its not. I had to change the name 3 or 4 times before it saved. And to top it off, I broke my headphones. It is not my f*ckin night!

yeah I formatted everything. I have made over 30 beats with JJ and this is the first time this has happened.

well that sucks.
this sounds like a potential hardware issue, that being a damaged storage medium...did i miss if you said whether it was CF card or HD?

I have a HD. I've even made other beats and everything would be fine. But like I said, this is one program just keeps stopping at sample 22 and won't load the rest, leaving me to do it manually each time I load. Its bugging me. Would reformatting be my best option?

I would reformat and delete the program file before you put your stuff back on the hd. once you got it all back on remake that program and it should all be good!

Also have you tried to hook the mp up to a computer and use a pc/mac application to recreate your program and have the computer "replace" the original program file?

may be worth a shot before you reformat!

Peace!

have you tried installing 3.08?

Version 3.08 fixes bugs found in previous versions.
