MPC 1000 and Yamaha MM6 (I Need Help with MIDI.)

When I hit record and play start and add some keyboard sounds to my mpc beat, on play back I dont get the chosen instrument that I heard as I was recording. It seems like the MPC is picking whatever sound it wants to incorporate. Somebody please help. Thanks.

some more details please. Midi cables, channels and options?

Check your midi setting first, cables second for proper routing, then your track settings M Mo and Mpc.

The order is not perfect but you get the picture.

Your probably pressing something on either the mpc or the keys to make program changes on the keyboard. You can turn this off in the midi options.
