Dillema what should i DO????

What up everybody...im short on money but this summer im gettin a job...hopefully i could get 300 a week...I only got the mpc2000 but im trying to get a keyboard so i can start wit my own beats....The only thing thats stoppin me is that i have no way to record my mpc...so i wanted to build a custom pc and get pro tools digi 002...I also have no monitors....what should i get this summa...also which keyboards have great sounds like r and b hip hop indian...Holla at me

Keyboard(Motif Triton Fantom...)

I'm an avocate for choppin & sampling. I have a keyboard.. I can't play, but I may sample a cymbal, or something. Get some records and you'l be all set.. I record into my cd-burner.. direct from the mixer. I also have aa vs-1880 that's collecting dust, but my main tools are the MPC, turntable, mixer, and a cd-burner.

This is a tough one. I don't know all of you desires, skills and interests. I don't really know if you can actually play keyboards or not. But, I'll take a stab. If you have the MPC, you have a serious start. You can actually make your own beats right now.

I think since you won't have tons of money to spend, some audio monitors, and maybe a small mixer will set you straight. If you can use records or CDs to sample from, you can have 1000s of sounds at our disposal. If not, buy a couple sample collections to get jump started.

I think it's far better to spend time learning that MPC thru and thru and then cop a keyboard after you can make a complete musical statement with the MPC alone. Then, you will be awesome because the keyboard will just add to what you've already got.

Seriously speaking, don't get caught up into that whole "I just need one more piece of hardware to make proper beats" -style of thinking. I've been making beats strictly with my mpc for months now, and I get by fine without a keyboard.

Think about tribe, ditc, premo, pete rock... You don't hear a lot of keyboards being used there.

primo does play his own keys. he chops em up like everything else. But yeah u dont need one, but fun to have around.

Yeah of course there is some keys from time to time, but it's mostly sample based. If you use the mp to the fullest you can pretty much do whatever you like with it.

~Ya yur right u have no probz samplin u got that part of the game down pretty much! U ready to try somethin new by makin some original beats mos def I feel ya. I would either cop a Motif ES6, Fantom-X6, or the Triton Extreme for the top of the line workstations! If u dont have that $$ by the end of the summa from yur summa job there are cheaper keyboards u can get as well that are nice and will get the job done peep these!

HERE WHAT YOU DO YOU GET YOUR PC THEN GO ON EBAY AND GET YASELF A MBOX FOR AROUND $250-300, THEN BUY REASON 2.5 AND THAT'S A GOOD START, ALSO CHECK EBAY FOR SOME MONITORS ANY MONITORS THAT SELL FOR $300 OR BETTER SHOULD BE OK TO START WITH.

Get the Alesis M-one Active. They sound really good for their price.

Hey why Don't you get your PC built 1st.....I had my dude build me a pc....and it is off the chain....you may find that the PC will be the answer to both of your problems........then cop a midi 61-88 key and roll!
