Can I use my ZIP drive with the MPC1000 via USB?

Wondering if it's possible. Or is the MPC1000'usb strictly a 'slave mode' (I might think so seeing that the Mac sees the MPC as the CF card instead of Internal Memory)?

Just wanted to see if anyone knows for sure....

Hello,

The USB port on the back of the MPC1000 is to connect the MPC1000 to a computer. When you connect the MPC to a computer with this USB connection, the computer will see the compact flash card of the MPC as a Mass Storage device and you will be able to move files from the computer to the card (or from the card to the computer). You cannot connect the USB port on the back of the MPC1000 to a Zip drive or any other drive for saving.
You could connect the MPC to your computer, move the sounds (as .wav files) from the MPC1000 to the computer, then save them from the computer to a Zip disk or CD Rom to move them over to the MPC2000, MPC2000XL or the MPC4000. The MPC2000 will read .wav files from floppy disk and hard disk only (not from CD-Roms). The MPC2000XL and the MPC4000 can read .wav files from CD-Roms and from Hard disk. The MPC2000, MPC2000XL or the MPC4000 cannot read the Program files from the MPC1000, but they will be able to load the Single Sequence files and the .wav files from the MPC1000.
