Midi note assign

I'd noticed this before, but never been too bothered, UNTIL NOW!
Is the lowest midi note that the 500 can generate c1(36)?
what happened to the whole octave below that? i need it, my mpc's tiny, my MIDI keyboard is massive,,,,WHY? is this similar on other MPC's? give me C0(24)

I got a question???
Once you asign a MIDI note to a certain pad how can you here it? I been trying to connect my MPC to my Sony Acid MIDI library and I cant get the MPC to play the sounds from the library?

MIDI is not audio!! The sound will come from the sound source - i.e. the library. The MPC will transmit the midi messages (i.e. what note to play) but the sound comes from elsewhere. Try hooking up your pc to speakers.
