Three Noob Questions

Just hooked up with a brand new MPC 1000. Managed to erase whatever came on the 128mb CF card.

1. Is the stuff I erased good or was it just some garbage samples.

2. Is the Data wheel supposed to feel wobbly and like its gonna break? It works fine but it seems wrong...

3. I got a ram upgrade, but where can I see if it works once I install it?

Can't you look at the free space values in the load/save screen and figure that out?

1. No, I have no idea whats on there, its quality, etc... Like I said, I'm new. Searching this forum and the web, I found only one other person who erased their sh@t, and some courteous dude put it up for them to download and replace. It is no longer available. I read in one place that the samples and SFX included on the 128mb card were "pretty nice" That is all I know.

Thanks too for helping to spread the negative vibrations of whatever it is that is bothering you. You'd be better off if you put that energy into the music instead of devising ways to answer people on forums in a childlike manner that will piss them off. What's the point?

I understand that there are some lazy people out there that want Q and A on forums to do all the work for them, but I am not one of them. I search, I read.

how come you didn't check the samples before you deleted them?

and if I recall the mpc states how much ram is installed upon startup

well welcome to the forum but I agree you need to check what's on stuff before you erase it. Anyways upon start up it should tell you how much ram it reads and what version OS your using

i think what he means is he accidentally erased what was on the cf card be fore he got to hear the samples....
