I loaded a previously saved multi which I'd saved complete with programs, samples and sequence files in a folder. But some of the progs are in the wrong order! So the drum part is being strummed on an acoustic guitar...

Anybody know how this happens and how to avoid it... btw I haven't used program change numbers at all.. should I?

Check your multi to make sure the programs are connected to the right parts. Next check the parts assign to the tracks. I hope it helps :D

Haze, of course the parts aren't using the right programs - that's exactly the problem!

It seems to me this only occurs when resaving an edited multi to the same folder - if you create a new folder each time it doesn't seem to happen but that is a major PITA. I wonder if the 4k is not saving adjustments to program numbers properly - on one multiu I cancelled the program change numbers and saved everything and when I reloaded the multi they are back!

Mmmm, anyone got more insight into this?

Dont how a user error can be involved in simply saving "ALL" to a new created folder.

It happens sometimes that all the parts are mixed up without making mistakes with saving. It happens sometimes,, and when i reboot, and load it all over again, the parts aint mixed up.

I have heard some poeple on a french folder talking about this aswell.

I used to have the same problem all the time.

Now I save everything in a new folder.
Then when ever I add more seq I save everything to a new subfolder.

I load my multis first then the all seq file.

I have not had the problem when I load/save my programs in this manner.

You might want to take a look at your program page and assign the programs to parts also.

I have noticed that when I do load the multi the programs are not assigned to the correct programs in the program screen.

They are assigned and play correctly in the main screen but each program is not assigned correctly in the program screen.

So from here on I will make sure I assign the programs to their parts myself in the program screen. .

If I have mutis/songs/seq/samples/etc loaded I remove everything from memory before I load a completely different beat. Multi First.

I use one multi, make assignments(assigning programs to parts) the same across all the different sequences, then copy and paste the same sequence and just mute the parts and add on whatever, works well, not as much of a hassle as it may sound, its pretty tidy

Havent ran into this problem

I just discovered that i had 2 multi's to, wich caused the problems (it aint an akai bug),, just trie to work with one multi in one project. So when you load a whole folder, you want have to reassign everything. load just one multi ad once is my advice
