Wow, I installed 1.12 and rebooted and then my heart almost stopped, because it would'nt continue booting after the OS seelction screen. Then I saw, that the OS file was too small (44 kb). Something went wrong during downloadiing the file from JJ's site... fortunately OS1 was bootable so I could fix it. But this episode makes me think about that an internal consistency check of the OS file should be implemented so the the system checks the befile before the flash ROM is deleted.

however,
i bet (i really hope i bet wrong) - all these tracks ive been workin on in the last week or so, will NOT sound quite right now, as they were probably affected by this bug, so any anally setup filt envelopes will now be a bit "flatter" at the head of the wave......hhhmmmmm.....that could really piss up my alley.

like i was sayin b4 about beta testing can often ruin a former piece of work as the platform "improves".

godfakkindammit - i was right.

ive been on a track all week workin on super tight filter curves on sub kiks, and theyre all smashed now as a result of the filter shape fix!!!! :0

jeeeezuz kroits..... just only realizing i was building all the best bits of the past 2 weeks on a buggy filter behavior.....i hate this life....wheres a lawyer when u need one?!

i'll have to use project names with the specific OS version included from now on, cos this BETALIFE gets u down/nowhere/fast.

please no more bug reports hahahahhahahaha - slightly demented laughter - grey hairs all frazzled etc....

here's what will not happen after 1.11, so before i use 1.12 i'll need to finish the project....

nope. cos the adsr's were already heavily working the filter shapes, and the bug simply added to the dynamic, give me a 6 stage adsr and you're on, but i bet you can't.

dont assume so much nym, you're probably very experienced in these areas - but you seem to deliver verdicts on people's endeavors before fully considering that people do work through things like these often too.

bestest regards nymz tho' but still,

no solution springing to mind, might just have to sample the job, lose about 90% of the flexibility but get the sounds i need. yeah i'll do that.

hey, hey, there is no need to catch feelings. do you realize how many times even advanced users overlook very simple details, myself included? without knowing exactly step by step what you're working with, i can only offer conceptual means, which is great from a blank slate but if you're already working on a project, it's like Windows phone support - an inefficient way of getting a solution.

since you've already used the filter envelopes to shape your sound it precludes that possibility unless you resample (as you described, that's a pain in the ass cuz of flexibility loss), but if that wasn't the case, filter ADSR could achieve the same sound as the < v1.12 filter bug, which is all i pointed out.

yeah yeah - i know, but i'm still really sore at the bug 'fix' that 'broke' my tracks, just like i was afraid of before loading up with the OS2, i get ya, you're a genuine help, and i spose u get it in the neck at times like this - just for being bothered to try to help, sorry, i appreciate yer efforts none the less. my grumps. tough day i reckon.

like i said before, i liked the filter 'chirps' that the bug caused!
but also yeah, you should be able to turn it off if you don't want it.

if the behavior existed before, it can exist again. arebee, just ask JJ to bring it back as some sort of feature or option and direct him to your .wav example. since he already knows what causes that it should be easy for him to re-implement it, it's just a matter of how to display it in the OS. possibly as a selectable filter type? could call it the 'chirp' filter or something. or maybe he could even bring it back in a more user-controllable way that allows us to shape it better. it's definitely one of the more potentially useful 'bugs' that the OS had.

thing is, JJ just pulled it out. he might get pissed if someone asks him to put it back!

maybe if enough people request it... ?

yep, i was thinking just that very thought, that jj could add it as one of the 'other preset' filter or env curves or attributes...... i imagine it could be referred to as something like 'perc' env or whatever.

but ive tried to recreate it somewhat - its about 90% good enough - enough to survive on - temporarily - as i should press on, but i dont want to forget about the details i put in once upon a time.....in my experience - they're often the most important little attributes in any personal work.

ive archived the previous program/seq/etc as "V111", just incase i get sad enough to reload the older os's. just 'cos i doubt JJ really cares enough to implement such 'extra' env models for one guy alone......yknow?
