Missing beats

Hi all, my question is quite simple, when im laying down a track of quick beats and drums (Basic Ones), on playback there seems to be some missing and it dosnt sound right. Its as if the pads on my new mpc1000 are over sensitive or not enough, adjusting them dosnt help. Is it due to mono/poly setting? Your advice would be great. Lee.

are you using timing correct?

Hi thanks for the reply, I'm following the metronome clicks and playing the beats in tempo. if i play them real slow under 120 bpm all notes are their but if i start really jamming then it dosnt play back as it sounded when i recorded them. Lee.

Great i've answered my question, now i can actualy play something i wanted to, thanks for a nudge in the right direction.

are your programs setup in mono or poly? if you have it in mono then the drums sounds can choke the last played note and make notes seem to disappear.
