A simple question Re: Bass module.

I'm no good w/MIDI. How would i hook up an Alesis NanoBass Sound Module to my 2kXL?

if you only want to control the sounds of the nanobass, you should just connect midi out of MPC to midi in of module in order to control the module. There are more specific details about saving the sounds you decide on that are probably talked about in your module manual somewhere. Most likely concerning MSB and LSB. If you can find this, I can shoot you the rest of the setup.

I have the Nanobass in hooked up to my MPC out and I cannot hear the nanobass' sounds. I recorded some sequences and noticed that the MPC recorded the data, but I cannot hear any of the sounds. I only have an MPC, monitors hooked into that and now the Nanobass (with no monitors hooked to it). Is there something I am missing in order to hear what my new Nanobass has to offer? Thanks.

midi doesn't carry audio. no audio is hooked up yet if im understanding you right. hook up some cables to your nanobass outs.

I have the audio monitors hooked up to my MPC? Isn't that enough? Do I need four monitors? I tried switching the monitor cables to just the Nanobass but that didnt work....I have a small 4 channel mixer but I am not currently using it at all...it is not plugged in to anything. Would that help? All really have done is, load sample disks into MPC and bang away, ccop, loop, sample, etc...MPC stuff only.

Just plug the outs of the mpc and the nano bass in that 4 channel mixer and the outs of the mixer in those monitor speakers hat will mos def do the trick. Like incurable stated : midi does NOT carry audio.
