Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

i can't wait. i have dreams about it. i watch every possible youtube video.

i do have a few questions. not concerns, just questions.

how large is the stock internal sample bank? how many kicks/snares/hats/percussion/claps etc?

with the stock memory chip and a 2gb CF card, how large of a project could i store on it? could i sequence a whole track, with drums and instruments?

does it record audio loops into itself through the audio inputs? or does it sample the audio thats coming in and i have to replay it through the pads?

if so, would it be far-fetched to run my keyboard into it, then run the mpc into my mbox for recording?

how many tracks can i have in one song at one time?

sorry theres so many questions. anything helps. thanks

sounds like you shoulda asked these questions before you ordered.

the 500 has 4 pad banks a,b,c, and d. each bank has 12 tracks for a total of 48 tracks per sequence. it can hold up to 99 sequences. max amount of RAM it can hold is 128MB. most stock mp 500 come with 16MB. i believe highest amount of CF is 2GB if not higher...you'll find all of this and everything else you need (most of the time) lol, in your manuals.

i gave you info about how many tracks you can have at one time, yes you can run a keyboard straight into it, and the rest is in the manuals that come with it, like i said.

Unfortunately, reading the manual is the last thing some people do, even when they have bought the device brand new with the printed version of manual in the box. Somehow they prefer to log-in this forum and flood it with all kinds of dumb questions, something that wouldn't have been necessary if they at least just read the first few pages or a quick start instructions. It's all very sad indeed.
