Hola guys,

Well it's quite long time I wasn't powering up my DAW.... Honestly I forgot a lot, shortcuts, simple things.... Jeeez it is really bad:). Now I got project with singer, so no way to avoid PC and soft sequencer.
I was struggling with assigning different midi channel to midi IN's in Cubase/Nuendo. It works flawlessly and perfectly in Ableton, though. I won this battle, so if anyone got problems with this - PM me.
Even working within DAW I still use hardware for most tasks ( midi rec, short, samples rec, synchro)

My setup is MPC, MP7(emu command station), MK6(emu synth keyboard), s950 (for yours drums only....007)
I hooked all to nuendo via AMT 8 midi interface. I record midi on MPC, DAW is just for vocal rec. and punch IN/OUT recordings from my hardware.

Now getting to the point.

1. MK6 and MK7 - works flawlesly with different midi channel in and out, so I can use it as a multinstruments (different channel - different instr.)
2. MPC - suxxxx, whatever midi out assigned - it plays on the same channel
what is worst - all channels (1-16 A ) plays together, so for example my drums and bass are mixed and plays big booooua together...
What i am doing wrong ?
I set up INPUT TRANSFORMER in Nuendo, so MK6 and MK7 plays OK.
Waht is wrong with MPC ???
Do I need update, or set up sth. inside DAW ????

:(

You are missing something. It is the fact that MPCs are not multitimbral. Midi plays active track only. That's the way they work.

If you want it to stop recording all input channels at once, you can change the active track receive channel to play only one input channel at a time. That's it.

you didn't understand me matey....

MPC is not multitibral obviously and I don't want to use it as a sound module. I want to use it as a midi center.
I use my synths and sound modules plus PC as a sound module, I want MPC to be just a midi center (MUSIC PRODUCTION CENTER );)
The thing is, outside DAW ( Nuendo/cubase) it works flawlesly. Different midi channel, different sound.
problem is within DAW, I can obviously record midi on separate channel inside DAW, but I want it record on MPC instead.

hope you got it

Ah I sorta get it now the correction in the second post makes things a bit confusing, but you seem to have confirmed this is not an MPC problem.

It sounds like you are going to have to take a closer look at your DAWs midi mapping functions. If you have a midi interface with it's own independent routing/mapping you may have to look at that too. Seems to be sending everything out in omni mode.

Hello,

I got AMT 8 by emagic. 8 Ins 8 Outs, work perfectlcy, even without PC (smart device). Like I mentioned before outside DAW it's OK. I can assign Ins and Outs (not a channels though) just input/output routings.
Problem is within cubase/Nuendo. So If anyone of you use Cubase, please give me some advice.
