MPC-Forums is not affiliated with Akai.
However, when authorized retailers have them in stock, they will announce it on their own websites.
I'm sure that when that happens, someone in these forums will mention who has the new pads in stock.
Until then, just look around for those websites and be patient. That's really the best advice I can give you.

got an email from mpcstuff today. they got their shipment of pad upgrades. they got a whopping 25 of them. needless to say that doesn't put a dent in their list. anyone want a 5 pound green nightlight for $300?

if shyt continues like this... either somebody gonna have to come up with a new pad fix or people just gonna have to wave their broken machines goodbye. these are harsh times for mpc1000 users.

I've just ordered mine from VST so hopefully they have some in stock. I was ordering from France so I'm very pleased with the customer servive at VST: great communication (they'll answer your mails nearly immediately), fast shipping, USPS tracking code..I really recommend VST

i woudn't be so sure. i ordered a set of black pads for my mpc1000 over three weeks ago... when did get them? - YESTERDAY.

i had to go to the royal mail sorting warehouse because i also had to pay customs charges in order to get the parcel. i imagine the customs charges for france will be a bit more expensive than in ireland also.

vst shud have completed a customs form in order that the charges would be billed to them. and all it was was an envelope with a sheet of rubber inside.

if i where you i would enquire about customs charges with vst, the pad upgrade will be well packaged due to the elctrical parts, so it might be a bit heavy, that partnered with your location could result in some hefty fees to pay.

Thanks Narkotiq for the informations, I'm going to ask them about the custom form but I fear it's too late since the item as been shipped yesterday. I already ordered some gear in the States from Ebay and never had to pay custom charges so I don't know about it really. For the time of the delivery tho VST can't be charged in my case since I was mailed an USPS tracking code the next day I made my order so if the item comes late it will be USPS's fault

i talked to elmacaco yesterday. he's finally getting his new pads. he mantioned that vst only has about 30 in stock until the next shipment (not sure then that'll be).
so for those who need to place an order, check with vst and get 'em before they're gone!
