so i'm new to the mpc 2500... it lets me sample in stereo, but i can only chop in mono? That doesn't make any sense.... I record a sample into my 2500, it plays back in stereo and everything... then once i chop it and assign it to pads it's in mono... am i doing something wrong? I don't understand why you can sample in stereo but only chop in mono...

Don't chop!!!select a portion of sound, extract and rename it into a new sample!!!

If you want to chop a stereo sample u should indeed extract them.

But for some creative power: Flip the channels of the sample u want to use (in Cooledit or whatever program) save it as a different file and load them both in your mpc. Use autochop exactly the same on the 2 samples and .. check out what happens. I have fun with it namean! :D

You can also chop your samples, take the slices, convert in stereo in wavelab and reassign to the pads.
