Choppin Samples On MPC3000 - Video Tutorial

no disrepect but that seems tedious even though i haven't tried it. i do have 3.50 and still not chopping away

yeah i don't understand anything please explain a little the focus of the trick

# EDIT SND Screen now features a COPY ZONE -> SND function.

This allows samples defined within an edit ZONE to be transformed directly into a new sound within memory from a single button push.

Define a ZONE start and end, COPY ZONE -> SND and a new SOUND will appear in memory.

The new SOUND created via this process will be auto named as "ZONE" with an incremental number appended for easy location within memory.

Repeat the process and the appended "ZONE" number will auto increment.

# EDIT SND screen now features a TRUNC SFT ST+END function.

This allows samples either side of the SOFT START and SOFT END points to be deleted in a single button push.

Rohan, when i copy zone to new sound the option switches back to copy zone to temp. is that normal? do i have to define the start/end points on both the sound edit side and zone edit side?

It shouldn't do that if you are using OS 3.50

The whole menu refreshes after each process applied.

So...

After processing the "Copy Zone to SND" function the menu will refresh to the top most available process function.

As the "Copy Zone to SND" function is not the top most process function then the menu refresh will change back to "Copy Zone to TMP", which is.

Simply reselect "Copy Zone to SND" when you want to perform this operation again.

Where "zone" editing is concerned you only have to work with the "zone edit" side.
