FREEZ / DIFF MPC OS?!

Hi, my mpc has been freezing on me all the time lately. I had this prob before but it just seemd to stop, now its back..I think it has a mind of its own and just likes to piss me off.. Any suggestions what this could be?

Also i remember someone saying that you could use different OS in the 2000, say like the 3000 but i'm sure this is not right?? Latest 2000 os is 1.72 ?

Isn't it on the 2000's that you have to bootup with the OS disk? If so, the OS on the disk might be corrupted. Just download the lateset version, put it on disk and reboot.
