Broken MPC??

hi people, im not the best at english but bare with me.
today when i turned my mpc1000 on everything looked alright untill i tried to play a sequence, its like it loops the first half second and the play botton light turns on and off fast, and after i pressed play a couple of times it doesnt work anymore, and also where the bpm is it says "EXT" i think, dont think it use to do that.

anyone has a clue why it does that?

and i got the free JJOS

doesnt anyone have know what it can be, pls people need some help

it says ext because you have midi hooked up.
hit shift then pad 9 then f2 to sync and turn the midi off.

If ther is no midi hooked up and it says ext then you gotta problem.
Take it back!
