Need suggestions - help connecting MPC to Macbook

I'm not the most tech savvy guy around, and I actually trust the users here more than I would trust a google search.

Basically, im going off to college soon and I'm going to be bringing my MPC 1000 with me. I want to hook it up to my macbook pro but I understand you need an interface for that.

Basically, the MPC has stereo recording outs and I was wondering what your suggestions would be for an interface and cables that I would need to connect my MPC to my Mac to track/mix my beats in Garage Band or Logic(if I decide to purchase it, still unsure its kinda pricey).

On a macbook pro you've got line in's... get 1/8th inch stereo jack to 1/4" pair of jacks for the MPC 1000.

If you want MIDI in/out, get a usb to midi adapter.

Can't tell you much more than that.
