Obscure shoutcast internet radio stations are a great source of sampling material, pretty high bit-rate some of em too.

you realize that the word 'rare' when used in the same sentence as 'youtube' is actually an oxymoron right?

no it isn't

yeah i love when people get all serious about audio quality of samples then take them and mangle them by putting them through digital timestretches and reduce them to 12 bit to add "crunch"

yea it is an oxymoron when u put something "rare" on the most "popular" video stream site in the world...it no longer becomes "rare" anymore.

no it isn't, an oxymoron is when two exact opposite words are placed together

you might find the idea of something rare being on youtube a little stupid but it definitely isnt an oxymoron

cant see that anyone used the term "rare youtube" anyway...plus youtube isn't the opposite of the word rare...popular isn't the opposite of rare

rare - common
popular - unpopular

basically it was a totally unnecessary and failed attempt at condescending humour to be honest

first off the thing about finding rare music on youtube is Ive found records on youtube that cannot be found digging. For instance on Jay-z American Gangster most of the original samples could not be found by digging for the records. I was only able to here the og samples on youtube. Maybe hard to find is a better word than rare. Peace.

I'll sample crashing sewer tops, ******. First off aint no reason to ask another man, what you should you sample on. Unless that dude bought your mpc, then you can sample from any source you want. I'll sample the sounds of me hitting my pads on the mpc, and make a banger. I once sampled off of youtube a richard pryor sample. Now hold on, someone might say, well scrooge, you couldv'e dug for the 12" vinyl to keep it real hiphop. **** that. Aint no rules to this hiphop ****. And another man aint gon tell me what to sample. I dropped the bread on the mp, I do wit it what I want, when I want. Lot of people will tell ****** don't sample this or that, or the classic: stick to vinyl. I love digging too, but expand your sample sources, I sample off youtube, vinyl, and will continue sampling whatever. I sample a porno flick and used the sound of this thick chick *** being slapped as a snare drum. EQ'd it, the whole nine. If you slap a thick chick on her *** it sounds like a nice snare, real talk. Sample what you want,******!

i don't sample , cause i use records , but i do record the music and use it for my kids ipod, and i don't really like the sound i get from it cause it sounds to tinny, kinda like reissue records.

but hey it does the job for ripping music with out havingto download it.

i go thru the 1/8 inc plug to my ikey and and it's OK but i wont sample to make beats as i said i love the thickness of VINYL much more headroom them digital.

 no it didn't go over my head but i'm beginning to think that maybe english classes at school went way over yours

fact is that the term oxymoron didnt apply here in the slightest, and the word common simply doesn't have the same meaning as popular either

for example, many fatal diseases may be referred to as common but i'd hesitate to say that they could be called popular
