Thought about a programmable automator feature that uses PADS to "DRAW" the automation CC,s, here is my initial idea.
I think been able to do this via PADS could be a really "tight" way of getting precisely drawn curves, so each PAD corresponds to a certain position and this is tied to TC so you can have it "DRAW" wider or closer depeding on the TC setting (no TC would "DRAW" per bar maybe for nice long PAD sounds)
I think it would probably work better if the sequencer was not playing but just in OVERDUB mode this way after each PAD push it will automatically move to the next place in the timeline as it already does when you in OVERDUB mode, so except for imputing a Note it really inputs a CC.
To see how it would work, just go to GRID EDIT (DRUM) put the MPC in OVERDUB mode (not playing)
and push PADS to make patterns now imagine that what you see is the control changes its drawing to control filter cutoff or something(this is the best example i could think of).
There is probably many different way to do this but as i said this is just my initial idea of how it would work as I like to have precision when doing my automation and this could be a fun way to do it.
I would put it in
1 GRID MODE
2 CLICK CONTROL now we can normally draw curves for certain CC,s via qlink or from your MIDI controller, This is were i would implement this.
