Ok so theres a used mpc 2000 at guitar center going for about $700. I've always wanted an MPC and its in good condition but I dont know much about them. Would it even be a good buy, i mean what types of questions should i be asking the people form guitar center? overall is the 2000 a reliable machine beacuse im coming from an sp 404 and I want something new u know

700 for a 2000 Classic? Thats a RIPOFF!!! You can get a good XL for less than that. If you're gonna spend 700, get the 100. You can find 1000s on ebay for that much. The 2000 classic is a good machine but cannot do what the 1000 does. Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself.

700 for a mint 2000xl with 32 MB, the FX board, 8 outs and a card reader could be taken into consideration...

Yep, thnx for the feedback, Im gonna take you guys word on it cuz the guy keeps trying to sell it to me and he says that it will be better than the 1k, but maybe hes jus trying to get rid of it. So would u guys just recommend me get the 1k as my 1st MPC

that's the way it works in pawn shops and used places... rule #1 - you never pay the price they are asking.

They look up the item in a guide book that has a lists the "suggested retail value" on products. they list a high, med, and low. they list it at high but that is not what the true value is.

the true value is the price you all know... (300-500 for a fully functional good condition 2000 classic)

yea check the pawnshop i see alot of them where im at in good condition, i just departed with my 2000xl yesturday and traded it for a 2500
