2000xl Studio Plus?

Yoo, I've been doing my research before putting out the money for an xl and I have a couple questions that I've been looking for answers. Well, I'm confused on the 2000xl studio plus. I've read that it comes with the the all the upgrades but, some on ebay don't mention the effects card. Can someone please explain to me what's included with the Studio Plus?

A standard MPC-2000XL can be upgraded to the Studio Sampler using the optional IB-M20T SMPTE board and Multi-8/DM Digital In/Out Board. There is also an MPC-2000XL Studio Plus model, which comes with all the expansion boards found in the Studio Sampler version as well as the EB16 SampleVerb Multi-Effects Processor Board option built-in.

You might want to ask those folks selling on fleaBay and make sure they haven't removed some of the boards.

That's what I was thinking. Trying to sell that shit seperate. I'm in search of a good XL and purchasing on ebay has got me skeptic. I can get a 2000 studio plus locally with all updates for $600 on craiglist but I had my mind set on an XL. Is believing the extra features on the XL will suit my needs, enough to stay away from the 2000? I was also thinking about getting the 1000 instead but I don't really want to chop on the computer. Too much thinking.

Where is "local" for you?
I ask because I know of some low priced XLs right now.

You don't need to chop on the computer to chop on the 1000. I don't understand why some people do it, but the 1000/2500 is very capable without a computer.
Personally, I'd stay away from the 2000 and just get the XL, but if you do get the XL, just make sure it has the card reader built in. I would recommend this upgrade over the effects card and the 8 outs, but if you find a 2500 used, I'd go with this option over all the others. $600 for an MPC2000 isn't a bad price, but it not a good price either. I've seen the old 2000's selling for $300, and XL's with card readers going for about $500 nowadays.

* just get the JJ os and the 1000 is a sampling powerhouse, you can do pretty much everything you need in the box.
