I for one am really tired of seeing "shows" where rappers or singers just have a mic to go over a recording of thier own album. Absolute bullshit. It's just the norm these days. No one even seems to mind it.

Who cares. No one bitches when all the music at a hip hop show is played blatantly out of a tiny vinyl setup as opposed to a 15 piece funk-jazz orchestra. Why give a shit if the spitting is any different? And I don't even believe half of that shit. Welcome to the internet. I watched a YouTube video about x y and z and it was all real and now I'm an expert. Really?

What the **** are you talking about? All I'm saying is I like to see someone do something live if I go to a live show. If they are scratching on a turntable, then I want it to be live, not a recording. Same with the vocals. As for the I saw a, b, c on youtube and now I'm an expert shit... You lost me. If you like the way shit is congradulations. There's plenty of it.

I love hip-hop but the live **** is usually pretty awful. Just an out of breath dude whose mic is way lower than his boys' rapping over a a piece of vinyl. You gotta admit that thats what you get 80% of the time. My point is that doom makes dope records that sound like nothing but his own, so why hate b/c his live show is lame... didn't stop me from listening to del.

At least check out KRS-One, his live shows are just that, LIVE! He doesn't get out of breath, You''ll wonder why he even bothers to have hype men and he'll most likely bust a cool freestyle that you can tell wasn't pre-written. It really is what a hip-hop show should be...

Yesterday I went to the Rock the Bells festival and say the Pharcyde, De La Soul, Mos Def, Nas and EPMD live.

None got out of breath. Nas was really the best sounding MC that night. But I have to mention that because of the less time they all had a lot of songs were played shortly.

I have seen Rakim years ago and he did playback his old fast tracks and only the newer one were live (I think)

Big Daddy Kane can still do it like in the early days.

Tim Dog is bad live. He can only do half a track and then is out of breath.

ha ha nearly all the rap shows i've been to sucked except for beastie boys (2 times), the roots (2 times), looptroop and cypress hill (one was cool the other sucked).
i guess i'm tired of listening to guys with towels on thier soulders running non stop while speaking about themselves in a "street credible" way while somehow a dj is bored in the background.
the worst crap i've seen live was wu-tang . there where like 40 people on stage and the only clan member was ghostface in a pyjama holding a flag.

ugggh, despicable, disgusting, nasty (not in a good way), nauseating.
same goes for all of those m/fkers that call not freestyling....freestyling. sickening.
the artform gets propogated by people with no integrity what so ever and listeners don't say anything because they are scared. fake fools have literaly 'bumb rushed the show', ooh it makes me so mad i have to curse.
