Akai warranty repair

Will Akai replace my pads if I send my 1000 in for repair? They are not dead yet, but are starting to go.

Also, how long does it take for repairs? The people at akai said they might just swap out my mpc for a new one. Has anyone sent there mpc for repair and recieved a new unit?

Im getting confused. So u tell me that akai told u they'll probably will send u a new mpc cuz ur pads are dying?
Never heard that before. That would be really cool for you man. If so, ur really lucky. Cuz I just have to pay $180 for a pad fix.

But please tell me more about this. Maybe things are changing at akai? (I think not but I'm really hoping so)

No, they said they might send me a new unit. There are other problems with my mpc. it isnt just the pads. My mpc is still under warranty, so they will do it for no charge. I doubt they are going to send a new unit, but I think it would be real nice if they do.
