1. Why not record hihats to track 1, snares to track 2 and so on? this gives you the track volume control - serves me good

You can hit the pad anywhere you want, hit it properly and it works properly. Preemo and Dre never seemed to have this pad hitting problem.

thats like a drummer saying "oh i should be able to hit this ride anywhere and it sounds like i want - sorry but the reality of mpc is you gotta hit those pads in the correct way - somewhat like any other instrument. I for one don't find this confining in the slightest

The pads are **** 1inch by 1inch, so why is the sensor not even half that size? Ever heard of the **** Padkontrol by korg? You have, but it doesnt matter because akais dick tastes so good to you, right?

I can program a **** sound any way I want to any pad on the MPC, I can't do the same on a real drum set. Stop trynna be smart and comparing apples to oranges.

You're getting a little worked up it seems, if you don't like Akai products especially the MPC I think you've come to the wrong place. This website is for MPC users and enthusiasts(hence the name "Akai MPC forums"). Yes, the pad sensors on the MPC have flaws, and of course we've heard of the pad kontrol. The best sensors to trigger drums and samples are piezo's which are made of highly sensitive crystals, neither MPC or pad kontrol use them. The internet is very big and I'm sure you can find a site for your preferred music production tool. I think Ben's comparison was to illustrate the old adage 'A bad carpenter blames his tools'. You saying the MPC has double triggering problems only tells us you don't know how to use it correctly. It's like a chef not being able to cut properly or use a spatula. Also the name calling is uncalled for, you came to an MPC enthusiast forum, don't get mad when we call you out for your lack of skill with the machine, moron.

lol @ double triggering. it happens, but who cares. the only time this happens is when IM hitting the pad with 2 fingers. so that is a USER technique issue. if the pads were so flawed why is everybody trying to imitate them.

you dont get the double trigger if you hit it right. hit it in the center of the pad and RAISE your finger OFF of the pad once you hit it. my brother CONSTANTLY gets double hits when he messes with my MPC becuz he always lays his hands on the pads and just presses them. they are percussive type instruments. strike them bitches, dont press them!
