Where do I download this?

That's the latest for the 1000.

i just don't get it! why the need to change the apperance of something thats totally acceptable? its like the pictures of peoples pimped machined - they (to my eyes) just look rotten!

I'd do it to get better contrast on the display. Dunno, maybe mine is faulty. After the screen warms up in hot weather, the background is a little dark and the lettering gets lighter. If it looks like it does just turned on in cold weather, I wouldn't dare try it.

Its not something you change constantly, that's for sure.

red is the worst color ever for a screen. seriously red is just not comfortable on the eyes and not to mention all of the negative associations that honestly could play on the mind.

red = stop
red = blood
red = no
so on and so on.

now the blue one is fresh i would do that if i felt absolutly comfortable with it or if my screen just plain went out.

Yeah, red is too dark. Aside from white, green is the easiest to see. I had this same issue with an Alpine radio I used to have in my car. Red looked sweet but was hard as hell to read the screen. Green looked like crap but was the easiet to read out of the 4 different color options (red, green, blue, amber)
