i just bought 2 zip drives based on most peoples recomendations.
i have a mac G4 which i guess does not have cd rom? i find this hard to be believe but... i'll accept it. or maybe i possibly do have one but it's useless cuz the mpc will have no way of being hooked up directly to it (the computer).

cd roms hold 700mb don't they? so why aren't cd roms more popular.

i'm still **** lost.
boo hoo.

ok not clear when u said u have a mac g4 and you guess it does not have a cd rom?????, but anyways you can write and erase on a zip much easier than cd, also u can install a zip onto the mpc, store beats, sounds, samples, then just transfer them to the computer, while with cds although u clockin 650 + mb u cant store your work straight from the mpc to cd. cause the mpc aint made that. plus you got to get a burner.
hence no direct interchanging from mpc to computer.

to make a long story short.... you cant save data from the mpc directly to a cd burner but you can with a zip.

Unless you've bought a second-hand machine that was seriously cannibalised you've got a cd rom player on your G4. I presume you mean it doesn't have a cd writer/burner?
I've got one of the "mirror-front" G4s which have the drive that reads & writes to CD but only reads DVDs. I thought this was the standard fitting for G4s although the earlier "toaster" style G3s only had a player.

Have you tried writing to a blank CDR on your Mac?
